Common Questions
What time should I arrive?
The ceremony starts at exactly 3:00pm.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes early so you have time to check your coat and grab a refreshment.
Do I have to pay for parking?
Parking is complimentary at 29 Ross Street beside the ceremony location, but paid for the public. You must take a ticket to enter the parking lot and then get a pre-paid ticket from the bartenders during the reception which you will use to leave the parking lot.
What does 'black-tie dress code with dark colours encouraged' mean?
For men, this means a tuxedo or black/dark suit with black tie or bow-tie.
For women, this means a floor-length dress or pant-suit in dark colours like black, navy, grey, brown, dark green, burgundy, etc.
Are kids invited?
We hope you will understand our decision to keep our wedding adults-only, and take the opportunity to have a date night!
Can I take my own pictures?
We respectfully request that guests do not take personal photographs until the party (after our ceremony and reception). We've hired two amazing professional photographers who will be capturing the wedding from beginning to end, across both digital and 35mm film. They will be photographing candidly and capturing moments with us, and among our guests. We would love to keep our professional photos free of flashes and iPhones, especially during key moments.
So, we invite you to relax, enjoy the moment, and smile! We will send out the photos afterwards.
Can I bring a plus one?
Due to venue restrictions, our guest list is limited to those included on your invitation.
Will the ceremony or reception be outdoors?
Both the ceremony and reception will be indoors. There is a short walk from the ceremony to the reception, with coat check at both the ceremony and reception. During the reception, you will have access to the rooftop for smoking or getting some air.
How should I get to and from the wedding?
Getting to the wedding:
Elora is close to Fergus, Guelph, Waterloo, and Kitchener. However, Elora does not have a taxi service, and Uber will likely be unreliable at night. Fergus does have a taxi service that closes before the wedding ends. Guelph, Waterloo, and Kitchener all have regular services. Depending on where you stay, you can get to Elora using Uber, a taxi service, or carpooling. You can also park in the Ross St. parking lot overnight and pick your car up in the morning.
Returning from the wedding:
For your convenience, a continuous shuttle bus will be available for the return journey. The shuttle will run between the Elora Mill to Best Western Fergus, and be able to take you to any Airbnb location. The shuttle will also do one run to Waterloo as the last stop as it is the most reliable if you need an Uber somewhere else. The service will commence at 10:30 p.m. The last shuttle for Fergus and Waterloo will depart at 1:30 a.m.
This arrangement ensures that regardless of where you're staying, you'll have a reliable way to reach Waterloo, which offers a wide range of services.
And... you can keep the party going until the end!
